Hey Jack, I doubt if anyone has flown from Alaska “down to the States” since 1958.

Sadly, as of Sept 2012, the bench at KPAO has been removed. It appears as though it had become a “safety issue.” http://www.countyairports.org/vpd.html This is sad news for a great community airport.

Makerplane is an open source design for a full scale homebuilt plane. The plans are geared toward using home cnc machines. Avweb had an article about it recently

I also love huge grin, the deep breath, move the mic out of the way, exhale she does after she takes off, and then the smile fades and it’s all serious business when she starts to level out.

I did okay! Thanks for the post! I’ve updated my page to see if i can get to my private license, I hope to have both my Check rides on my 17th birthday. (Fixed wing and Rotor Wing).
